On Mac we do a P-ram flash key combo, to reset PCI slots, etc to default state. Do you have a Delta or anything else on a slot?

Remember you can't have any other audio cards in when you run Pro Tools I'd imagine DigiTest also. You're just getting a single beep then it posts? XP? Don't they give you tech support? I know for Sibelius they tried to charge me x$ per minute or something can't remember. Is there a program like Pacifist for XP that will open installers? Have you gone into device manager? Also I would try Asio4All it lists 001.

(edit) only opens mac installer but I still didn't see 'Pro Tools Utilities'ĭigiTesttm is the spelling tm small font. Let me see if pacifist will open the installer. I have 5.0.1 for mac/pc amongst many others. Seems i am being thwarted on all sides here so may take a breather before there is a digi001 shaped hole in the window! I think if had a mac as you first mentioned there are more versions avail, not many win versions available doesnt help. The digitest that came with pt5.3 didn't work, so not much point reinstalling pt5.3

I grabbed digitest 5.3 but that won't even run cos the dsi.dll (now 6.4) installed isn't right, plus i've read that that version of digitest doesn't do 001's either in any case. I grabbed digitest 6.4 standalone but that won't install and from what i've read doesn't do 001's anyway.

and in the hope that its own version of digitest would work as described, but 6.4le doesn't come with digitest, just an mbox update util. I went and got pt 6.4 so i had rewire capability with reaper etc.
So my suggestion is have Pro Tools installed just in case you need it, or need to open the I/O settings manager. As a dual booter with three DAWs I found I had to often boot Pro Tools and go into hardware setup to repair routing issues, optical A/D/D/A and RCA spdf tascam or other, as well as mirroring. I hope this solves your problem Ben and anyone else who thinks their used 001 is shot. But Motu audio engine was right on the money and stated exactly what needed to be done. The card was running fine until an install of Tiger, foolishly I left it in. It is interesting, I wouldn't have guessed with all the cryptic error messages in Pro Tools, literally 6 or 7 including ram failures, etc what the problem was.

But booting into DP with the digi i/o extension installed it will revert to 'midi' only as there is a hardware problem. If the spdf is set to rca and the ADAT to optical and spdf is set to other than all is good, even if greyed out. Just hard restart and run it again and again. Restart computer (hard restart) run it again. Also as posted Tiger booting on a PPC machine (Macintosh) with 001 card installed. Panther and Tiger instals mucked with it. Mine did not boot (I have owned it since the waiting list on these things started). Hopefully with Pro Tools or DP 2.7.2 installed on OS-9.1- OS 9.2.1 or 9.2.2 See if you can get on a friends powerpc mac.
